A NEW range of collectable candles in tins has won Ulverston-based Wax Lyrical a highly coveted national award.
The range won Home Fragrance Product of the Year at the Gift of the Year 2016 awards.
The awards are the UK’s largest product competition for the gift and home industry, recognising the most original and innovatively designed products.

Wax Lyrical’s new range, introduced last month, continues the company’s relationship with British brand, Fired Earth. The range consists of eight collectable candles in tins which feature Fired Earth wallpaper designs.
Each fragrance in the collection contains a blend of essential oils with a choice of Assam & White Cedar, Emperor’s Red Tea, Green Tea & Bergamot, Chai & Lime Blossom, Black Tea & Jasmine, Chamomile & Violet, Peppermint Tea & Thyme, Earl Grey & Vetivert.
The award was presented to Joanne Barber, managing director of Wax Lyrical by acclaimed British designer, Cath Kidston, MBE.
"We are delighted that our new Fired Earth range has won this prestigious award," said Ms Barber. “The range was conceived, designed and manufactured by our team in Cumbria and we are proud to be flying the made in the UK flag.
“Products for gifting and indulgent home use are becoming more and more popular and we are seeing a significant increase in sales as a result of this trend.”
