A Lakes Mastermind is expanding his tutoring business to offer distance learning. Robert Gibson, of Windermere, won the TV quiz show in 1998 with teaching techniques he now shares online and over Skype.
The 58-year-old hopes his 17 years of experience will help learners across the country. His subjects include maths, English, French, German, Italian, Latin, history and philosophy.
A dedication to study, and hours spent reading, enabled the Cambridge University graduate to win Mastermind.
Mr Gibson, who began employment as a postman and administrator, trained to teach at Lancaster’s St Martin’s College but opted out of school to provide one-to-one tutoring.
His pupils have included students hoping to improve their grades and adults learning languages for holidays.
