POLICE are appealing for information after two commercial premises in Grasmere were ransacked in the early hours of yesterday.
Cumbria Police say tills, money and jewellery were taken from the Attic Gift Shop on Broadgate and the Jumble Room Cafe on Langdale Road, after thieves gained access through ground floor windows.
A force spokesman said: "Police ask residents to remain vigilant and to ensure their properties are secure at night."
