POLICE have confirmed they are continuing their investigation into information being leaked to the media about the police and crime commissioner.
A spokeswoman for the force said a file has now been submitted to the Crown Prosecution Service, for their consideration of any further action.
A 50-year-old woman, an employee of Cumbria Constabulary who was arrested in April on suspicion of data protection offences and misconduct in a public office, remains on police bail.
This has been extended to August 16, this year, and she remains suspended from work.
A 54-year-old man from Penrith, not an employee of the force, was arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice and has also had his bail date extended to the same day.
