A MOTORBIKE rider was knocked to the ground in a suspected ‘road rage’ incident on a major South Cumbrian road, police say.

The 65-year-old, who was travelling on a yellow motorcycle, injured his arm in the incident at Newby Bridge on the A590 at around 12pm on Sunday.

Cumbria Police said the altercation involved the male driver of a blue people carrier.

Officers said there were reports that the motorbike rider was knocked to the ground and injured his arm.

Police would like several people who stopped at the side of the road to come forward.
