THE life of Kendal’s dancing sensation Steven Hall looks set to change dramatically after he emerged as one of the stars of Britain’s Got Talent.

The 53-year-old had a whirlwind week which ended in a seventh place finish in the final of the ITV show.

Steven, who has lost his voice after dozens of media interviews, is now busy rehearsing a new routine ahead of the BGT tour which kicks off in Newcastle this weekend.

And the future could be very different to that of his job as a telecommunications engineer as he strives to achieve his dream of being a professional entertainer.

Speaking during a break in rehearsals, Steven said: “It’s been a bit of a roller coaster.

“Simon putting me through was the most bizarre experience I have ever had and then to open the show on Saturday was such a massive honour.

"Having all the dancers to be part of the routine was so special.”

Steven said he did not know if he would leave his part time job as a result of the show.

“I won’t have to face that decision until the end of the tour.

"We have got agents and managers who we talk to and they will keep us informed of offers that come in,” he said.

“I need the tour to help me understand whether it is what I totally want.”

Steven’s final dance medley included tunes from The Prodigy, Dolly Parton, Beyonce and JLS.

Judge Amanda Holden told him: “You could have a massive career after this. You’re going to do very well.”

The final show was watched by 11.4 million people and the results segment attracted 12.5 million viewers.

TV guru Simon Cowell praised how seriously Steven took his performance.

“I thought that was fantastic,” said Simon. “Your lip-synching was good along with your choice of song. You're a little tiger.”

Earlier in the week, viewers saw Steven make the last 10 following a tense semi-final showdown.

Appearances on other programmes including Daybreak have seen his profile rocket.

He has amassed thousands of followers on Twitter and Facebook and cemented himself as one of the programme’s best-loved contestants.

His first audition has been viewed nearly two million times on YouTube.

Steven added: “Here I am in London - a place I haven’t been for 30 years – and everyone in the street seems to know me. I never expected things to happen in such a big way.”

The show was won by Scots singer Jai McDowall.
