Kendal show improved fitness with comfortable win over Burscough

AS THE season draws closer Kendal Town showed their improved fitness and sharpness with a 3-1 victory over Burscough, who were relegated from the Evo-Strik Premier Division last season.
Kevin Leadbetter proved that by opening the scoring on just four minutes by beating Burscough's offside trap and finishing well.
Shortly after he struck the post with a drilled shot. but Burscough levelled on 32 minutes with a sublime goal as forward Niall Cummins chipped Town keeper Josh Welsby from 40 yards.
Town regained the lead on 37 minutes when Alex Taylor turned well and fired home to give Kendal a 2-1 lead going into half time.
The Black and Whites bossed the majority of the second half with Leadbetter grabbing his second of the match on 70 minutes.
Josh Kenworthy, who was a danger all game, beat a couple of defenders in the area to cross for Leadbetter, who finished at the back post.
