Eight people caught out by dense cloud in Kentmere

First published in Allerdale news

EIGHT people became stranded in dense cloud in Kentmere.

Kendal Mountain Rescue Team was called to help the party of four adults and four children just after 6.30pm on Saturday.

The group became disorientated when they were enveloped by thick cloud.

Rescuers made their way from Kentmere Reservoir and located them, 'cold and damp', at Thornthwaite Beacon.

They were led down to Troutbeck Park where the team's Land Rovers took them back to their vehicles.

It was not until around midnight that the team returned to base.
