KENDAL Town's home game against Matlock Town has been abandoned due to the Derbyshire side being snowed in.

The pitch at Parkside Road was in a fine condition, but the game had to be postponed because of Matlock's inability to travel to the game.

A date is yet to be confirmed for the re-arrangement of the tie.

Meanwhile, Kendal Town will now face Hednesford Town at Parkside Road this Tuesday night as opposed to the originally-scheduled trip to the Midlands in midweek.

On Thursday, April 6, Kendal will play their away league match at Hednesford rather than the home game.

The Coniston 14 Road Race has also been called off due to the weather, and will now take place on a Saturday to be confirmed in October.

But Kendal RUFC's home match against Percy Park is still scheduled to go ahead.

There is no snow on the pitch, the away side have had no travel problems, and the game is due to kick off at 3pm.

Kendal's final men's hockey game of the season at home to Bolton will also take place at 2.30pm at Kirkbie Kendal School, but Windermere's home tie against Blackpool has been postponed.
