AMBLESIDE United picked up a point from their final game of the West Lancashire season as they finished their 2012-13 campaign.

On Saturday United lost 3-0 at home to Hesketh Bank as Richard Burns’ brace and a goal by Danny Birkby put paid to the Cumbrians.

But they ended their season on Tuesday night with a 3-3 draw at Haslingden St Mary’s after Zach Clark put Ambleside 1-0 up in the 10th minute.

Jonathan Heath equalised after 25 minutes but Clark restored Ambleside’s lead five minutes later as they took a 2-1 advantage into the interval.

Jonathan Booth levelled two minutes into the second half but once again, Ambleside quickly hit back through Simon Rawnsley.

But Haslingden drew parity for the third time in the game when Diamond Mangle made it 3-3 with 20 minutes to go, and the honours were shared for the rest of the game.

Dalton United finished their campaign with a 1-1 draw at fourth-placed Burscough Richmond. Sam Lightfoot got the goal for the visitors, while an own goal in the 50th minute cost Dalton the chance to claim all three points.

In Division Two, Milnthorpe Corinthians difficult season concluded with a 5-0 defeat at Furness Cavaliers.

Glen Sargeant and Steve Morgan had Furness 2-0 up after 11 minutes, and second half goals through a Matthew Hargreaves brace and Jordan Chubb gave the Cavaliers victory.

Milnthorpe finished 11 points adrift of Barrow Wanderers at the foot of the table.
