RISING music star Amy-Jo Clough braved the icy cold weather in Coniston to film her latest music video.

The 16-year-old Bolton-le-Sands singer stepped in front of the camera at Yewdale Bridge for new track ‘In Your Hands’.

The song was penned by Amy-Jo for the soundtrack of a locally-made gymnastics short film ‘Fighting For Perfection’.

The film and music video were directed by Barrow film-maker and photographer Lindsey Dickings, who approached Amy-Jo to write the song.

Lindsey, a big fan of Amy-Jo’s ‘fantastic’ voice, said the song was about ‘getting back up if you are knocked down, and trying again, not giving in’.

Amy-Jo wrote performed and composed the song with the help of her music producer Jon Rasmussen.

Additional filming for the video took place at Abbots Wood in Barrow.

Country/soul singer Amy-Jo won North West Search for a Star at the age of 13, and since then has performed to audiences as large as 25,000, alongside artists including The Vamps, Union J, Little Nikki and The Brit School.

Amy-Jo said, “I had the most fantastic day filming my music video for ‘In Your Hands’ – it was chilly but a great day!”

‘Fighting For Perfection’ was shot in Barrow last August, and involved over 60 local cast and crew.

The inspirational tale focuses on a gymnast’s fight to achieve perfection, as seen through the eyes of the lead character Molly, played by local gymnast Emma Newsham.

Both the short film and music video will be screened at The Roxy Cinema, in Ulverston, on March 1.
