FLOOD alerts are in place in Cumbria as water levels rise following overnight rain.
The Environment Agency has issued the alerts - which mean flooding is possible - for Derwentwater and the rivers Derwent, Esk and Irthing.
Flooding has been reported on the following roads in South Cumbria and North Lancashire:
* On B6254 Fairbank between Fairgarth Drive and The Park. Between Kirkby Lonsdale and Old Hutton.
* On the A6 Lancaster Road between Hawk Street and Carnforth Truck Haven. Between the railway bridge and Callender Caravans.
* On Crag Road between New Road and Main Street, between Warton and Silverdale.
* On A6 Cable Street at Chapel Street, Lancaster. The left lane reportedly underwater outside Sainsburys supermarket.
Showers are forecast to continue into the afternoon and evening.
