Furness trains protest backed in Ulverston

ULVERSTON town councillors have backed a petition from Furness MP John Woodcock to stop cuts to a train service.

First Transpennine Express has proposed to more than half through services linking Barrow, Ulverston and Grange with Manchester and its airport.

Coun Norman Bishop-Rowe said: “It’s a service that keeps this part of England in touch with the rest of the world, particularly at the weekends.”

Its a very important issue and I will join others and jump on the bandwagon to ensure we are heard.

Lakes Line Group have been active along time and have worked extremly hard to protect train services to the Lakes and Furness peninsula.
