Regular and reservist soldiers from 4th Battalion, The Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment, have just returned from a six-month deployment to Cyprus on a United Nations Peacekeeping Mission called ‘Operation TOSCA’.
The soldiers, who come from all parts of the north west of England, including Cumbria and Lancashire, patrolled the UN buffer zone with international police and military colleagues.
The tour was deemed a great success by the UN, especially as the mission was conducted over a particularly sensitive period as both sides try to reach a political solution.
