PLANS to convert a farm building at Sea View, Ringstones Lane, Lowgill, in the Lune Valley, into a single-storey dwelling were rejected by Lancaster City Council planners.

Tatham parish councillor Bronwen Osborne and city councillor Joan Jackson spoke in support of the plans by George Morphet, at the meeting of the planning and highways regulatory committee.

However, members decided there were "no special circumstances" to justify a new home in the "isolated, unsustainable location".
