A CAMPAIGN is being launched in Eden to get recycling back on the household agenda.
Eden District Council is supporting the #Pledge4Plastics campaign, which aims to find a positive use for the five billion plastic bottles sent to landfill in the UK each year.
Designer Abigail Ahern, who recently starred in of Channel 4’s Get Your House in Order, has even designed a bespoke phone cover, which is made from 80 per cent recycled plastic bottles.

Residents are now being urged to recycle just one extra plastic bottle each week.
Councillor Mike Tonkin, Eden District Council’s Environment Portfolio Holder, said: “This campaign highlights how important it is that residents continue to use the council kerbside fortnightly bag and box scheme.”
Around 1,000 phone covers are available to reward those who register their support at pledge4plastics.co.uk
