Police have confirmed the man died following the collision
A MOTORCYCLIST has died following a crash on the A66 yesterday afternoon (June 6).
The one vehicle collision occurred on the westbound carriageway of the A66, just prior to Stainmore Cafe.
The man, from the North East, was riding a yellow BMW motorcycle.

He was treated by paramedics and an air ambulance doctor but police have reported that he died of injuries sustained at the scene.
No other vehicles were involved in the collision. The man had been travelling westbound with two other motorcyclists.
Police would like to speak to any witnesses. Call Cumbria Police on 101 and speak to PC 2271 Cottingham quoting log number 194 of June 6.
