A SEVENTIES Ambleside house facing problems with damp, necessary repairs and poor insulation can be demolished and replaced, agreed Lake District National Park Authority planners.

The original plans submitted for Scandale, at Sweden Bridge Lane, by Mr and Mrs D Conibere prompted six letters of objection, planners heard. Concerns about noise and dust pollution were raised, as well as the size of the new property and its impact on neighbours, restricted views of hills, and loss of evening sun.
