AN ENTREPRENEUR is hoping to inject high class and exceptional service into the Lake District as he prepares to launch his latest venture.

Stephen Hargreaves, 41, is creating a modern 70-seater establishment called The Fizzy Tarté on the corner of Ash Street, Bowness, which he claims will be like nothing else in the area.

The upmarket wine and champagne bar with patisserie is set to open in March and will treat customers to 'a luxury interior' and a seated area outside.

It is the first of two developments that Mr Hargreaves, who is also CEO of the Cranleigh Boutique, is hoping will transform the town's hospitality scene - the second being the introduction of the Purple Octopus, a night spot, also on Ash Street, that will be on the site of what was formerly the Old Postilion Restaurant.

Open seven days a week until late, The Fizzy Tarté will offer a selection of bespoke cocktails, wine, beer and champagne, as well as light bites.

"We’re really excited about the launch of The Fizzy Tarté, a trendy bar and café that will be completely unique," said Mr Hargreaves.

"There’s nothing like it in the South Lakes.

"When I first started looking at this last year I wanted to create a venue that I would love to visit.

"The Fizzy Tarté will echo the look and feel of a sophisticated city pavement café and there’s a real gap in the market in Bowness for a chic bar that transitions easily from the daytime to the night time market and we’re aiming to fill that.

"Customers want a high-class place to go with what I'd class as exceptional service in a modern, sophisticated environment and that doesn't exist in Bowness at the minute."

The Bowness-based businessman is keen to create is a strong, loyal customer base by introducing a VIP membership that will reward repeat visitors.

Mr Hargreaves will be giving away £100,000 of champagne to VIP members to celebrate the grand opening.

Members can also expect two free glasses of champagne on their first visit and a free bottle on their birthday.
