PUPILS at a South Lakeland school raced down the playground while flipping pancakes to celebrate Shrove Tuesday.
Staff and the 55 students of Storth Primary School combined celebrating the ending of Lent with their participation in Active Cumbria's 100-mile challenge.
It seeks to inspire children around the world to discover the benefits of regular physical activity.
"It was great to have all the children involved," said head teacher Simon Brabant. "One of our principles as a school is that we do everything together. Today was a good way to bring both the pupils and the staff together."
Following lunch, pupils enjoyed eating the pancakes. The staff took part by cooking the pancakes with the batter that the children had made and they also had their own race which was won by Early Years Foundation Stage teacher Helen Ireland.
