AN AMBLESIDE shop jazzed up its doughy goods for National Doughnut Week.

The Apple Pie cafe and bakery is joining in the fun to help raise money for The Children’s Trust, by donating a slice of every doughnut sale to the charity.

Employee Simon Fielding said: “We have all our usual doughnuts on sale like the jam and caramel ones, plus we have had some extras, like the apple variety.

“We have also been jazzing up the doughnuts for kids.

“It’s such a great cause so it’s good to get involved.

“Not many customers have heard of it so we have been making them aware.”

After only a few days the cafe had sold £166 worth of doughnuts, and 10p from each purchase will go to The Children’s Trust.
