Kendal played hosts to a group of cycling estate agents doing an epic bike ride around Britain to raise cash for charities which help homeless people.

The cyclists, from Fine and Country, called at the Castle Green Hotel halfway through a 33-day, 2,600-mile sponsored ride.

The day had begun at Lytham St Annes and the group cycled through Blackpool and Southport before arriving in South Lakeland.

Rider Sean Newman said every day had been an ‘adventure’ and explained that the group had already encountered torrential rain and flooding in Wales but a beautifully hot day as they rode into the Lake District.

There to meet the cyclists was David Benjamin, managing director of Fine and Country branches at Kendal, Windermere, Ambleside and Lancaster.

It is hoped the ride will raise in excess of £100,000. To donate £5, text Bike32 to 70070.
