I read the report about the upmarket champagne bar set to open in Bowness (Gazette, January 28, 'New bar will be unique in area')
I could not be happier about this investment. Growing up in Bowness I can't believe how much it has changed for the better.
Just in the last year or so we've seen several fantastic ventures set up and improve the offering to our visitors and locals alike.
The Flying Pig, The Country Hut, The Fizzy Tarte, there are too many to list.
It's not just food and drink either - I am continually amazed in the improvement of the retail offer and guest accommodation in our bed and breakfasts and hotels.
I am proud to have grown up in Bowness and I am very proud of the entrepreneurs who have come here and worked hard to make it the best it can be. I hope all that read this will join me in raising a glass to what I am sure is a promising future for Bowness and Windermere.
