A MAN has described his shock after finding his moped had been stolen and set on fire in Kendal.
John Youde, of Long Close, was devastated when he woke up on Sunday morning to discover his Keeway 125 bike had been taken from outside his home sometime between 10pm and the early morning.
His ten-year-old son went looking for it and was horrified to find a smouldering wreck on wasteland at nearby Vicar’s Field.
Mr Youde said: “It was still smoking when I saw it. I just feel so demoralised. It makes you feel sick.
“I have only had it six weeks and I used it to get to work. I am having to get lifts now. The insurance money won’t be enough to buy me a new one.”
Anyone with information should contact Kendal Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
