Leck Gallery is hosting a series of local photographers presenting pieces taken using a microscope, camera and telescope.

" We are showing photos from grains of sand to local galaxies, as well as our very local world in between," said Janet Nuttall of the gallery.

"Five very different photographers are exhibiting their work, some for the first time.

"Janet Woodhouse, form the Lune Valley, has some beautiful local landscapes and wild life photos that would make wonderful Christmas presents.

"Edward Nuttall, a student from Giggleswick, has taken an artistic view of local scenes and also presented pictures from the Galloway coast. He is a budding astronomer, and involved in the refurbishment of the observatory at Giggleswick.

"Brendan Gillow has always been interested in photography and travel. His pictures capture the essence and spirit of the places he visits, often focusing on architectural features, rather than the traditional landscapes.

"Tim Hancock is a member of a local camera group. He is presenting a series of local photographs enhanced by the fact he takes detail out of his landscapes.

"Jenny Natusch presents amazing work showing grains of sand as viewed through a microscope. Jenny, from Lancaster, has sourced sand from around the world.

"Colin Jack presents Night Sky photos of our moon, our neighbouring planets and even neighbouring universes."

The exhibition opens at 7pm tonight (Friday, November 11) and then is open on Saturday and Sunday (10am until 4pm each day).
