THE 1st Kirkby Stephen Scout Group is hosting a special evening screening this Saturday (December 6) of Scouts on Everest, a film produced by former BBC Blue Peter presenter and Head Scout Peter Duncan. There are just 100 tickets for the show and they are available from leaders at Beavers, Cubs and Scouts. The film starts at 7pm at Scout HQ, Mill Lane, near Frank’s Bridge, in Kirkby Stephen, and costs £3 for adults and £1.50 for children. There will be mulled wine, mince pies, soft drinks and a raffle with proceeds to fund the development of scouting worldwide, and the Kirkby Stephen Scout Group’s general funds. Ready to serve refreshments are: Alfie Wren, ten; Tessa Higgs, 11; Emma Taylor, 11; and Elliot O’Connor-Ramsey, 12.
