THE popularity of Kirkby Stephen Grammar School Sports College is spreading beyond the boundaries of Cumbria, as students are being bussed in from north Yorkshire to attend the school, which received an "outstanding" result in its latest Office for Standards in Education (Ofsted) inspection.

Kirkby Stephen Grammar is in the top 10-13 per cent of schools in England, and head teacher David Keetley is keen to build upon the achievements of its staff, students and the surrounding community in creating a vibrant centre for education.

Kirkby Stephen is one of just four secondary schools out of 42 in Cumbria to receive an "outstanding" rating in its Ofsted report. And it has received that high commendation for both the school and its sixth form, which are looked at separately.
