KENDAL’s Whinfell school came out on top at this year’s Consumer Challenge Quiz, organised by Cumbria’s trading standards team The event, held at Penrith Leisure Centre, aimed to educate young people how to be consumer savvy.
It also helped school pupils with moderate learning difficulties become more confident and be more aware of their shoppers’ rights.
Whinfell School were the winners ahead of Sandgate School, Kendal, and Sandside Lodge, Ulverston.
Mike Smyth, public protection manager, said: “It’s a fantastic opportunity for these young people to learn more about being confident and independent consumers.”
