PUPILS from Wilson’s Endowed CE School, Over Kellet, became part-time archaeologists as they explored some of the 16,000 Egyptian artefacts at the Manchester Museum.
They used iPads to record their findings as they turned into ‘history detectives’ and searched the Ancient Egyptian exhibition to find clues as to the way of life of one of the museum’s ancient Egyptian mummies, called Asru.
The children also had the opportunity to handle artefacts and they explored what they might have been made from and what they were used for.

Headteacher, Jo Williams said: “I believe it is really important to make children’s learning real and exciting. The children came back from Manchester Museum having had the opportunity to touch and explore real ancient Egyptian artefacts which has brought the whole topic to life for them.’
