A GRAMMAR school which serves north Lancashire and south Cumbria has been named in the Sunday Times 'top 100 schools' list.
Lancaster Royal Grammar School has again featured in a list of the UK’s top 100 state schools after receiving its best ever A-level grades this year.
The all-boys day and boarding school saw 78.2 per cent of its pupils achieve grades A* to B - making it one of the best-performing state schools in the country.
It has been ranked sixth highest overall, and second highest among boys’ state schools, in the North of England.
Overall the school has moved up 30 places since last year’s 'Sunday Times Parent Power' ranking, which is based on 2014 A-level and GCSE results at A*-B grades.
Headmaster, Dr Chris Pyle, said: "I am delighted that our pupils' achievements have been recognised in this way, and that we are known so widely as one of the most successful schools in the UK.
"Congratulations to the boys who worked so hard to achieve these outstanding results, and who now go on to pursue even greater ambitions in the next stage of their education.”
