CUMBRIAN skills project 'The Edge' has enrolled its 1,000th learner with Stand & Deliver, a Kendal-based training provider.
Richard Tarney from Eden Country Care, a homecare provider in Eden, is the landmark learner and has completed an Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) Level 3 Award with Stand & Deliver to improve his skills in the workplace.
He said: “It was challenging going back into a learning environment after a few years away, but certainly worthwhile and I enjoyed the course."
The Edge helps businesses skill their workforce and access funded qualifications and skills that directly meet their needs.
Zoe Makepeace, manager for The Edge said: “Enrolling the 1,000th learner is a symbol of all the hard work the partnership of Edge providers have undertaken over the past year to meet the needs of the county’s employers. This project will have a real impact on the growth of local businesses in the area."
