A GROUND-breaking leadership project for Furness primary schoolchildren has been launched.
The Future Leaders Academy, conceived by MP John Woodcock, Barrow AFC legend Neil Doherty and former teacher Jill Byrne teamed up to set up the academy for pupils in Year 5 and above to help them achieve greatness.
Mr Woodcock said: “A huge amount of investment is surging into Furness and our young people have the opportunity to harness this once-in-a-generation bonanza and shape the future for many years to come.
“If the Year 5s of today are to become our captains of industry tomorrow we need to enable them to reach their full potential."
