A CREATIVE arts project is taking place with the aim of bridging the generational gap.
Local charity Kendal Windows on Art (KWoA) are working with children from Stramongate Primary School as well as older community members to encourage different generations to explore and share local history stories.
The children were inspired by the past as they learnt about the area's direct connection with famous scientists such as Arthur Eddington and John Dalton.
Astronomer Stuart Atkinson attended to impart his knowledge and Bill Harrison of Hallgarth Seniors told of his time working at the seaplane factory in Windermere.
In March, children at Stramongate Primary School invited members of St George's Mother's Union and Hallgarth Seniors to a creative showcase of their work with the aim of getting to know their older neighbours and sharing scientific and historic interests.
