JUNIOR masterminds claimed victory in a quiz show-style inter-school event.
Kirkbie Kendal School beat Cartmel Priory School in the Top of the Form competition at Ulverston Coronation Hall.
The competition, organised by BAE Systems, saw the winners secure a Kindle Fire each and £500 for their school.
Answering questions on factorisation, refractive properties of prisms and the structure of plants, Kirkbie eventually won by 450 points to 395 which meant that Year 11 students Matthew Stafford and Jessica Letheren as well as Year 10 pupils Eloise Mcphereson-Bowes and and Nick Asquith went home happy.
