FIVE Chinese teachers paid a visit to Leven Valley CE School, Backbarrow, and spoke to pupils about aspects of their culture including Kung Fu, calligraphy, paper-folding and cutting.
The teachers from the University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN) were invited to the 59-pupil school by infant teacher Jackie Burley. She visited Chinay last November with the Confucius Society based at the Preston university.
"It was a great day of cultural exchange between England and China," said Ms Burley. "Children were very excited to meet Chinese people."
"The teachers were very interested that the school was so small. I visited a school in Beijing with 800 students during my visit with UCLAN. For them, a small school in the English countryside was something very interesting."
