COME next week and Kirkbie Kendal returns to the spotlight producing another spectacular musical.

Well-known for putting together some of the best music showcases in around, the Kendal school cranks up the volume one more time to perform Andrew Lloyd Webber's School of Rock at Kendal's Brewery Arts Centre from Tuesday until Friday, June 26-29.

Based on the hit film that stars Jack Black, the hilarious new musical follows Dewey Finn, a failed, wannabe rock star who decides to earn a few extra bucks by posing as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school, Horace Green. There he turns a class of straight-A students into a guitar-shredding, bass-slapping, mind-blowing rock band and attempts to get them into a top Battle of the Bands competition without their parents and the school's headmistress finding out.

Featuring 14 new songs penned by Andrew Lloyd Webber and all the original songs from the movie, the high-octane smash delivers blistering guitar riffs and touching romance in equally awesome and rock-driven doses.

Math Is a Wonderful Thing, Stick It to the Man and You're in the Band are all in there as Dewey's phenomenal young stars in the making rock their way to the top.

This year's mighty musical is again produced and directed by Mark Leadbeatter, Gemma Barton and Jen Donald.

Tickets are available from the Brewery box office on 01539-725133.
