Ben is top boffin

Science wizz Ben Clarke has been named as Cumbria Young Scientist of the Year.

The Kirkbie Kendal School upper sixth student received his award from Tony Gill, chief executive of Cumbria STEM Centre for a project he under-took on aircraft wing technology.

Ben now hopes to represent Cumbria in the National Big Bang Final to be held in Birmingham in March.
