A NEW world record price for a Limousin was set at a Cumbrian auction when a maiden heifer was knocked down for 125,000 guineas.

The 2013-born Glenrock Illusion by Goldies Comet, out of Spangle, pictured left commanded the top price during a dispersal sale at Borderway mart, Carlisle.

It is a new all-breeds UK and European record for an animal.

The previous LImousin record was 120,000 gns for the bull Dolcorsllwyn Fabio, set in 2012.
