A FARMER, who built an unauthorised track through woodland, has been fined £1,500 for failing to comply with a planning enforcement notice.
Richard Whitton, 75, of Blenkett Farm, Jack Hill, Allithwaite, pleaded guilty at South Lakeland Magistrates’ Court to failing to comply with an enforcement notice issued in July 2012.
It required him to remove all materials used to build the track.
Whitton was prosecuted by South Lakeland District Council for failing to comply with the enforcement notice. He was ordered to pay SLDC’s costs of £1,120, plus a victim surcharge of £150.
