NEWTON Rigg College played host to the final of the Cumbria YFC fence erecting competition, which saw 11 teams from around the county braving wind and rain to complete a set task.
They were required to erect by hand a four-post angled stock proof tree guard within two hours.
Carlisle YFC’s team of Chris Roe, George Bowe and Tom Graham came first, completing the job in the allotted time.
Cartmel’s team of Charlie Long, Joe Dickinson and Zac Wilson came second and Egremont's team of Josh Beaty, Harry Moran and Martin Holliday third.
