NEWTON Rigg principal Wes Johnson has been given a wider regional role, encompassing Askham Bryan education centres at Newcastle, Teesside and Hexham.
Mr Johnson has been appointed Askham Bryan's campus principal for Cumbria and the North, building on his successful role at the Penrith college. He joined Newton Rigg in January 2012 following the addition of the college to the Askham Bryan family the previous August.
In the last three years, he has overseen the growth of the Penrith campus from 350 full and part time students to around 800 today.
