EDEN Valley YFC's team of Rebecca Newby, Amy Swinbank, Tom Barker and Will Williamson won the Cumbrian Young Farmers’ Clubs County Final of the Intermediate Brainstrust Competition held at The George Hotel , Penrith, last Thursday night (Jan 15).
Among the topics debated were: Should there be more British breeds of animals on British Farms? and Has the quad bike superseded the sheep dog?
During the same evening, the Grayrigg YFC team of Katie Waine, Flora Hill and Sian Kennedy placed third in the junior reading finals after reading passages from “Shadow “ by Michael Morpurgo.
