3:03pm Friday 10th October 2008
THE annual general meeting of the Royal British Legion’s northwest Lancs district group will be held at Greenodd Village Hall this Saturday (October 11).
The Chairman and President will make reports, anticipated to show that the past year has been a quiet one for activity, although the Group has been generous with donations to the three Northern Legion Homes and Poppy Appeal.
The quarterly meetings provide an opportunity to air problems and progress in all Legion matters.
One likely subject will be the ‘Return to Rationing’ campaign - run by HQ of the Legion and Age Concern - making the government aware that many people, ex-service or otherwise, are living below accepted income thresholds.
Members of all Legion formations are welcome to the meeting, which starts at 2pm.
