Town photographer Allan Wilson was lucky enough to catch a few shots of Ulverston's first flash mob, The Ministry of Silly Walks.

On Saturday 26th of April a surprised crowd gathered as Ulverston Community Arts Network (UCAN) appeared out of nowhere in fancy dress and did some silly walks, Monty Python style. Even St.George made an unprecedented appearance, charging through the The Market Cross in all his finery. 2 minutes later, they disappeared, leaving startled shoppers wondering what it was all about.

This kicked off the Ulverston Walking Festival and Jean Povey was on hand to give people more information about the walks that are planned. Missed it?

There will be another, but only UCAN members know where and when the next flash mob will be....www.ulverstoncan.co.uk.
