To mark the 200th anniversary of The Westmorland Gazette in 2018, we are publishing a photograph from our archives on our website every day this year.
Today's photograph shows Terry Waite signing copies of his autobiography entitled 'Taken on Trust' during a trip to Kendal in 1994.
The book told of his years spent as a hostage in Beirut, for of them in isolation.
