Five candidates have put themselves forward to fight the Westmorland and Lonsdale seat.

The constituency stretches from the coastal town of Arnside to honeypot towns in the heart of the Lake District, from Sedbergh in the east and to Milnthorpe in the south.

In 2010 Liberal Democrat Tim Farron retained the seat, winning 30,896 votes, a majority of 12,264 over the Conservatives.

Standing in 2015 are Tim Farron for the Lib Dems; John Bateson for Labour; Dr Ann Myatt for the Conservatives; Alan Piper for Ukip and Chris Loynes for the Green Party.

 

Barrow and Furness:

There are six candidates sighting for the Barrow and Furness seat, which includes Barrow and Ulverston.

In 2010 John Woodcock won the seat for Labour, polling 21,226 votes, a 5,208 majority over the Conservatives.

The candidates in 2015 are: John Woodcock (Labour); Simon Fell (Conservative); Nigel Cecil (Ukip); Clive Peaple (LIberal Democrat); Robert O'Hara (The Green Party) and Ian Jackson (Independent).

 

Skipton and Ripon:

Five candidates are contesting the Skipton and Ripon seat.

In 2010 it was won by Conservative Julian Smith, who polled 27,685 votes, a 9,950 majority over the Liberal Democrats.

The candidates in 2015 are Julian Smith (Conservative); Jacquie Bell (Liberal Democrat); Malcolm Birks (Labour); Andrew Brown (Green Party): and Alan Henderson (Ukip).

 

Morecambe and Lunesdale:

Six candidates are contesting the Morecambe and Lunesdale seat.

In 2010 it was won by Conservative David Morris, who polled 18,035 votes, an 866 majority over the Labour.

The candidates in 2015 are David Morris (Conservative); Amina Lone (Labour); Matt Severn (Liberal Democrat); Phil Chandler (Green Party); Steven Ogden (Ukip) and Michael Dawson (The Northern Party).

 

Penrith and the Border:

Five candidates are contesting the Penrith and the Border seat.

In 2010 it was won by Conservative Rory Stewart, who polled 24,071 votes, a majority of 11,241 over the Liberal Democrats.

The candidates in 2015 are Rory Stewart (Conservative); George Burrow (Green Party); Neil Hughes (Liberal Democrats); Lee Rushworth (Labour) and John Stanyer (Ukip).
