BASHFUL blokes have shied away from attending auditions for Kendal Amateur Operatic Society's production of The Full Monty.
The operatic society is staging a musical version of the hit British comedy film in November, but has encountered a shortage of men willing to bare all during the show's climax.
"We will be asking them to do the full monty. That happens at the end of the show, but with discreet lighting their modesty will hopefully remain intact," said the society's business manager Margaret Stamper.
Auditions for previous productions of Brigadoon, Carrousel and Blitz were oversubscribed with willing volunteers, but casting for The Full Monty is proving a different matter.
The only would-be stripper that showed up was Martin Saunders, who works for the Gazette's parent company, Newsquest, in Blackburn.
