Quakers' response to conflict exhibition

A NEW exhibition detailing the Quakers often-undervalued action during periods of conflict has opened at the Friends Meeting House, in Kendal, writes Matthew Taylor.
The exhibition, Weapons of the Spirit, documents the Quakers' response to conflict since their declaration of pacifism to King Charles II, in 1660, up to their present day work mediating between Israelis and Palestinians on the West Bank.
Weapons of the Spirit sits beside the Quaker Tapestry, an artistic celebration of Quaker insights and experiences spread over 77 separate panels of intricate stitch work.
