Planning officers have dismissed AN APPEAL against a decision to refuse planning permission for the installation of four dormer windows into a cottage in Kentmere.
Joanne Colley of Overend Cottage in Kentmere made the appeal after the Lake District National Park Authority (LDNPA) rejected her application for the windows, which are already in place, on the grounds that they were detrimental to the building's character.
However, the planning office ruled in favour of the LDNPA, as she agreed that the windows were of an "unacceptable design" in that they were "intrusive and overbearing, both in relation to Overend Cottage itself and in the context of the wider group."
