DRIVERS are being warned to keep the A685 between Tebay and the train crash site at Grayrigg clear from tonight (Wednesday).

Removal vehicles and heavy machinery is expected to descend on the village tomorrow (Thursday) before work begins to remove the Pendolino carriages from the crash site on Friday.

Cumbria Police have warned that all vehicles must be removed from the road by tonight and no-waiting cones will be put in place throughout the village.

Any vehicles parked along the route will be uplifted.

Children may be dropped off at the village school as long as no vehicle is left unattended.

The removal operation is expected to be complete by Wednesday, February 7.
